On this page i will occasonally inform you about the techniques used by Wiideo Center. It is intended for developers only!
First off, the whole app is written in Java, more specifically: an Eclipse Rich Client Application. As a base Framework i used the new Eclipse Europa.
The HTTP Server is included in the application and it is based on Jetty:// a full fledged HTTP Server purely written in Java. All files visible by the Wii Browser are JSPs, and so is the theming concept: All themes are based on some default JSPs and Java Beans, but each one can implement native calls to get more out of the application while still validating the given interfaces.
Most of the logic is handled in the Model class which keeps track of the current directory the user is browsing and the transcoding files. Everything is built according to the MVC-pattern.
On the next update i will talk about the different threads and the fixes for the mencoder crash at the last segment.
