Wiideo Center 0.3.5 released!
Development is fully underway. This is just a minor fix but nevetheless here is the changelog:
- fixed bug for wmv-files
- added option to overstretch or keep aspect-ratio

Wiideo Center 0.3.4 has been released!
After some months of inactivity, there is a new version out for you.
This is a minor bugfix release:
- added support for .divx file-extension
- added support for .nuv (up to Version 5)
- added .mkv support
- fixed playback of .flv files
- fixed sorting for files over network drives
- updated to latest mplayer/mencoder

Wiideo Center now also supports Subtitles in the well known .srt-Format. Your subtitle File must be in the same Directory as the Video-File and have the same Filename except the File-Extension.
As for the DVD-Playback: It is still in an early stage. So there are some drawbacks:
- you can play DVD's in iso Format only if the DVD contains no Menu-Structures.
- If you play the .vob-Files directly, be sure to select the vobs of the main movie, not the menu. This will not work!
Of course, there will be a fix for this in the near future.

Wiideo Center is a small application which can transcode and stream all videos from your PC directly to your Nintendo Wii Console (Internet Channel required!).
I came up with the idea of creating this app because of the great work of the people from WiiCR. After some extensive testing of WiiCR i realized that i would not meet my needs. Furthermore the project currently seems unmaintained so i started writing an application of my own. I will not say too much about the flaws of WiiCR, because i admire the work done there, but what i can say is: I analyzed the process and tried to improve every aspect of the software.
The most important things i believe are: easy installation and it should always work! WiiCR is fine, no doubt about that, but i don't think the casual Wii User wants to go through the trouble of installing Xampp. Furthermore it seemed like WiiCR did not always like my directory structure so that not all folders could be selected, or videos just didn't transcode. I hope i can fix all those issues with Wiideo Center!
