Wiideo Center 0.3.6 released!

After some months of inactivity, there is a new version out for you.
This is a minor bugfix release:
- added support for .divx file-extension

The new Picture Mode
Wiideo Center now also supports Subtitles in the well known .srt-Format. Your subtitle File must be in the same Directory as the Video-File and have the same Filename except the File-Extension.
As for the DVD-Playback: It is still in an early stage. So there are some drawbacks:
- you can play DVD's in iso Format only if the DVD contains no Menu-Structures.
- If you play the .vob-Files directly, be sure to select the vobs of the main movie, not the menu. This will not work!
Of course, there will be a fix for this in the near future.

Hotfix for Wiideo Center
Due to a bug with newer versions of rmvb videos found by a fellow user (thanks again!) i just issued a new version of wiideo center, release 0.3.1
To download this fix, just start wiideo center and it should check for new versions or you could simply wait for the application (it checks for new updates every 3 hours) to find the new version.
I will upload this new release to sourceforge in a couple of hours (but you don't need to download it as long as the update process finishes without errors)

Finally! The work is done lads! I just completed the new version of Wiideo Center which now has some cool new features as requested by the honorable posters in the feedback section!

As a small note to the update feature: the application now polls on every startup and after every 3 hours a sourceforge server and checks if a new version is available. If so, you are prompted if you wish to upgrade. This process is really simplified and each new version should only need ~ 2 MB of your downstream bandwidth :-)

Hi Folks,
i know that i am behind the scheduled release of Version 0.3.0 which will have Playlist and mp3 support.
I didn't had much time to implement these new features due to my Master Thesis at University and my job ( yes, i do have to make a living ;-) )
Also i have to fix some bugs within mencoder related to false segmenting. This does take considerable time.
Well i plan to release Version 0.3.0 in mid-september, after that Version 0.4.x with DVD support is following in mid- to end- october (tight schedule because of the release of halo3 *g*) and the last non stable release of series 0.5.x with linux and mac support from november to december.

While still developing Wiideo Center i am starting a new "secret" Project going by the acronym "sgrts". I can't tell you much at this moment, but its going to be BIG :-)

Finally i had some time to invest into this Project. The following new features have been added:
- a rich new Graphical Userinterface instead of the Textonly listing
- speedups and bugfixes while transcoding your files
- animated thumbnails

Linux? Mac?
While the Frontend GUI for Wiideo Center is still in development, i have another announcement to make: The Linux version is almost ready, but still needs some testing. The Mac Version will follow soon after the Linux release. So stay tuned!
Wiideo Center 0.1 Released!
Despite the fact that the Frontend GUI isn't finished yet, i decided to release the current Version of Wiideo Center to the public. At the moment you are stuck with the text-only interface which has only minimalistic features but serves its purpose. The Graphical Userinterface will be finished soon.

Bugfix update available
I discovered some bugs related to the new mencoder binary included in the 0.1 release and because of that the new 0.1.1 release is ready for download.

The Frontend is still Text only but it serves its purpose. This is going to change with the next Version which will be the first public release. And no worries, i am a professional Web-Designer so the Frontend should look pretty good ;-)
The Backend GUI is finished for the moment, but maybe someone wants extra features, so the will get implemented sometime in the Future.
For those wondering if all my Videos being listed are legal: yes the are! Just head over to http://www.onlinetvrecorder.com which is a personal Web VCR. Please use this application only if you obtained the Videos you are going to transcode legally!
